What determines what number acollegeor nfl player gets to wear on his jersey?ncaa ,nba teams

In football, the numbers are meant to mirror each other.

By that, i mean, offense to defense. It doesn't work the way you might think it does from my description, but that's what their numbers are based on.
Their position.

Linmen: 50's to 90's.

Ends: 80's

Backs: 20' to 40's

Quarterbacks: 0 to 19

This is usually how it works. There are exceptions.

The player will usually pick his own personal number within these limits.
their position
College doesnt matter but pros its Defensive line 90's or 70's. Or-line: 50's,60's or 70's. QB 1-10, running cback 20-49. LB-50's, Db's 20's or 30's or 40's. Punters kickers usually single digits. WR-s 80's
a lotto system they draw ball whit numbers on them************
he chooses or he gets a number assigned to him in alphabetical order
Incollegethere is less rule on what # a player can wear, so you see players like kickers have 90's or LB's with a 6 or something. But in the pros there is a set #'s for diferent positions. Like QB's 1-19 O line is 60-79 WR's I think has to be double diget 10-19 or 80-89, D line 70-79, 90-99. I'm not sure the exact numbers for every position, but they have a rule for it. Thats why Bush is #25, because RB's can't have a single diget # less then or over 20-49.
player picks but there are certain numbers for each position
Numbers 1 to 19 are worn by quarterbacks, kickers, and punters.

Since 2004,[5] Wide receivers are also allowed to wear numbers between 10 and 19 if they so choose, even if there's an 80-89 number available.

Numbers 20 to 49 are worn by running backs, tight ends (when an 80-89 number is unavailable), cornerbacks and safeties.

Numbers 50 to 59 are worn by linebackers and offensive linemen.

Numbers 60 to 79 are worn by members of both the offensive line (the tackles, guards and centers) and defensive line (the defensive ends, defensive tackles or nose guard).

Numbers 80 to 89 are worn by wide receivers and tight ends.

Numbers 90 to 99 are worn by linebackers and defensive linemen.

Numbers 0 and 00 are no longer used

Should the nfl go to a 7 game playoff system?

Give me your answer, yes or no and give me supporting details as to why you picked that answer, most major sports have a multiple game playoff series, which is good for teams that are consistent, rather than lucky.

+10 for the best answer.

Should the nfl go to a 7 game playoff system?www.nba

yes because then more teams get a chance to win the super bowl...

go chargers

Should the nfl go to a 7 game playoff system?nba players ,nba teams

What you've just asked is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent question were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone on this board is now dumber for having read it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
No way a 7 game series.MAYBE like a 3 game series but that is still to much.

Football takes alot of toll to the body.Hockey is a contact sport but your always getting hit in Football. There's a reason why they make a 16 game regular season.
No, I like football playoffs how it is, win or go home. If it went to series then alot of the comebacks we have seen in the past would not happen, coachs would take players out if they are down too far early in the series.
No, that would be way to long. Besides, football just isn't a series sport. All it would do accomplish is the injury of more players.
i wouldnt mind seeing the superbowl maybe best of 3 but the nfl just destroys guys physically. No way theyd make the season 2x as long w/ 7 game series playoffs.
actually, it would actually have to go up to more, most likely 8 or 9, if there are more teams in the Wild card.
Cause unlike Baseball, Hockey, and Basketball, football is full friggin contact!!!!!! Think before you ask a question.
no that is wayyy too much considering that there are only 16 games a season... maybe the best out of 3? hey if they increase it its all right with me; i love watching more games
Heck no Football players get hurt more then Basketball and Baseball.
No one is good maybe they could stretch it to three games but not seven
yeah lets all wait about ****** 28 weeks before the playoffs finish...
Sounds good, but I have to answer no. The game is way too physical. That's why I don't understand how hockey players do it! Maybe it could be 2 out of 3 but that is very taxing on a football player's body. The season already lasts 6 months. If they play multiple playoff games, the teams would have to play more than once a week or extend into March. Is there any kind of requirement for off season duration?

Anyway, I wouldn't call most of the wins "lucky". Football is a tough sport mentally and physically and requires efficient coaching as wells as playing. You can think of each playoff game as a GAME 7 (win or go home mentality). Maybe that would help put these games in perspective. I like where you are going with the question, I just think that 7 games is a little ambitious.

Will Colt Brennan have a more successful NFL career in a spread offense?

or can he assimilate to a system of pocket presence?

Will Colt Brennan have a more successful NFL career in a spread offense?nba season

i saw nothing in him last night that made me think he will do anything at all on the next level other than hold a clipboard.

Will Colt Brennan have a more successful NFL career in a spread offense?nfl ,nba teams

That performance last night made him a late 1st day or 2nd day pick .
He might or might not. There are many QB in colleges whose are better than him still can't play well in NFL yet.
The more appropriate question is: How many Arena Bowls will Brennen win? The Run and Shoot offense is a joke and Brennen was exposed for the fraud he and June Jones are.
After last night....

I don't think Colt .25 want's the NFL !!! lol.....
YOU expect HIM to get drafted
What I do like about him is that he has a quick release and makes quick decisions. I don't know if he'll be a super star, but I think he'll do well in the pros.
NO! He has no future in football. Quit dreaming. He had no business in the Heisman talk either. What a joke.
Remember former big yardage Hawaii QB, Tommy Chang? Brennan might make an NFL team, but he won't get a sniff of the field. If he thought Georgia was big and fast, he ain't seen nothin' yet!

Can the NFL start banning players?

Does the NFL have the power to kick thier problem children out of the league for good? This is rediculous. How many times do we have to see these players get arrested before things change.

Can the NFL start banning players?nba spurs

I'm pretty sure they can, the NFL is like a business, if you work and you do stupid things, you'll get fired, well what makes the NFL any different. The NFL should ban the next guy who does something stupid as a warning to all the other players.

Can the NFL start banning players?basketball ,nba teams

Your employer cannot fire you for being stupid, unless if affects your performance at the office. So far, PacMan, Tank, and Chris Henry (who has been doing a great job of staying out of the news) have not done anything that caused them to miss game time legally. They have not been in jail during the season, they have not shown up drunk (not that we know of) to team meetings, their actual performance has not been compromised. If, for example, PacMan were arrested and missed game time, then the NFL could ban him, but until that happens, all they can do is suspend.
Banning players sounds a little harsh, even though I completely agree with you that the league is getting out of control. Now, one way the Goodell can better the criminal/problem situation is by making an example of one player. Perhaps he can warn Pacman %26amp; Tank that if they do one more thing wrong during/after their suspension, they will be banned from the NFL.

As for the comment on Ricky Williams, the answerer hasn't really done his homework... Williams is going to apply for reinstatement to the NFL in September, after failing his drug test AGAIN and AGAIN. Also, if the dolphins don't want him, which looks like a definite since they drafted yet another RB, Coach Linehan on the Rams has already expressed his desire to have Williams as a backup runner behind Steven Jackson... something tells me that we have yet to see the end of Ricky. (that is--if he can keep his hands off the bad stuff)
Yes, the NFL does have power and legal muscle to banish ANY player from the league.....permanently. But why fire an employee who is going to rake in MILLIONS OF DOLLARS into my business??? Why, firing such a worker is business suicide.

We fans don't have to see any player get arrested. All we ALL have to do is boycott the games....cold. That will wake up the NFL Administration. We don't have to buy the seaon tickets. We can tell the TV poll callers we DO NOT watch ESPN or NFL televised programming....and we can be resonantly clear to explain because WE are tired of seeing urban ghetto trash get arrested on drug charges literally in front of our children's eyes.

Why the NFL is quick to sign drug addicted, drug dealing, murderous players befuddles me. I'm quite sure there are MORALLY CLEAN players who run just as fast, throw the ball just as good ( if not better ) and can WIN GAMES far better than any THUG ever will.

NFL: fire the THUGS and let them play in prison, where they belong; SCOUT OUT for clean living people for a change, OK????? Bring integrity to American Football.....

.....or we'll close down the party for you.....because WE have the power to.
If you owned a business would you have the right to hire and or fire anyone you wanted to?
Yes. Players should realize that they are NOT above the law and should set a good example for the fans of the game.
Do you see Ricky Williams still in the league? No. The NFL is starting to become more strict with its off the field problems. Pacman Jones isn't playing this year (trust me, he isn't getting his suspension reduced), Chris Henry is gone for half the season, and Tank Johnson was just kicked off of the Bears for his late night DUI. I think that soon the NFL will become so strict that just a couple of mishaps will get you banned.

What are the top 3 NFL rivalry games that you enjoy watching the most?

My fav rivalry of all time had to be the Steelers and Oilers back in the day of Earl Campbell and Kenny Stabler against that viscious defense of the Steelers.

I remeber watching those games and seeing them just beat the living hell outta each other. I can remeber the streachers comming out like 3 times a game to cart someone off the field.

Other then that I gotta say the Cowboys and Skins or the old playoff rivalry between the Cowboys and Niners.
